Why do we make the choices that we do? Life provides unique experiences that affect people in different ways. These experiences contribute positively or negatively to our well-being and guide our life choices and impulses. It is important to honour the good things we have encountered but it is vital to address the challenges that we have faced, especially when they keep us stuck.
Can you imagine where you would be if you could go back in time and have “do-over”? Where would you live, what kind of friends would you have, what career would you pursue, and what partner would you choose? Understanding how you got to where you are today helps set a foundation for the future.
I believe that within every person is their ideal self, waiting to be discovered. My work is about helping you understand how your life experiences shaped who you are — why you adapted the way you did — and finding new ways of being that actually serve you. I want you to get better.
I work from a trauma-informed, body-based perspective using the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) as my primary approach, alongside EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapies, CBT, and DBT. My clients appreciate my direct and efficient style. I work with intention so you leave sessions with clarity, not confusion. My goal is to show you, within the first few sessions, that long-term change is possible.
Creating the life you want begins with the awareness that you deserve something different and accepting the responsibility for change. I work from a trauma-informed perspective and provide a nonjudgmental environment to help you heal the wounds that are keeping you stuck
I specialize in trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, attachment, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, eating disorders, and addiction, working primarily with adults. I offer a compassionate space to explore the origins of unhealthy coping patterns and unconscious motivations.
I offer sessions both in-person and online. I prefer in-person work as I find that trust builds faster face-to-face, which makes the relational aspects of therapy more accessible and effective. In-person sessions are available at two locations:
Calgary (NW) — Riptide Psychology, 301 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N (Hillhurst / Kensington area). A dedicated parking stall is reserved for clients, with additional reserved building parking and plenty of paid and unpaid street parking nearby.
Edmonton — Nuvista Mental Health, 11440 Kingsway NW, Edmonton, AB T5G. Free parking is available on site.
Virtual sessions are available whenever wanted or needed. Life doesn't always make it easy to get to an office. Whether you live in a remote area, transportation is a barrier, you are feeling unwell, or you simply want to supplement your in-person appointments, virtual is always an option. The goal is to make sure that getting support stays as simple and accessible as possible, wherever you are.

My approach to counselling is grounded in authenticity, curiosity, and genuine human
connection. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel emotionally safe, deeply
heard, and understood without judgment. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the
underlying patterns, beliefs, emotions, and life experiences that may be contributing to distress,
relationship struggles, anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling stuck.
My style is warm, compassionate, and insight-oriented while still being practical and grounded. I
integrate approaches such as person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
Motivational Interviewing (MI), somatic approaches, attachment-based perspectives, and mindfulness-informed
practices depending on the unique needs of each client. I am especially interested in the
connection between emotional wounds, self-awareness, relationships, and personal growth.
I value honesty, self-reflection, and the importance of doing our own inner work. Whether
someone is navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity questions, or
emotional overwhelm, my goal is to help clients better understand themselves, build resilience,
and move toward a more connected and fulfilling life.
My background as a Registered Massage Therapist, combined with a lifelong personal meditation practice, has given me a deep appreciation for the relationship between the mind and body. Supporting clients in integrating these dimensions of themselves is work I find both meaningful and deeply rewarding.
Having participated in and facilitated men's groups, I have developed a genuine understanding of the unique challenges men face in today's world. Navigating what it means to show up authentically as a man can be complex, and I take pride in supporting men and young men alike as they work through the difficult moments that life brings.
During my years as an RMT, I frequently witnessed clients having emotional responses when certain areas of the body were worked on. At the time I did not fully understand what I was seeing, but those experiences planted an early seed of curiosity about the relationship between the body and stored stress. That curiosity eventually led me to complete my first somatic EMDR training, giving me a concrete and effective way to help clients identify and release what the body has been holding.
From a young age I had profound personal experiences that shaped my understanding of the deep connections between people, the natural world, and higher states of consciousness. These experiences have given me both a sensitivity and an appreciation for the extraordinary, and I look forward to helping clients make meaning of their own unique experiences and recognize them as a source of genuine strength.

Addictive behaviours often begin as early coping strategies and can come to shape many areas of life over time. At Riptide Psychology, we offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore the roots of these patterns with curiosity and care.
Through personalized, trauma-informed therapy, we work with you to understand and process the underlying experiences that drive addiction, while supporting you in building healthier, more sustainable ways of coping. Our goal is to help you reduce reliance on harmful patterns and reconnect with a greater sense of choice, balance, and long-term well-being.

We approach weight and body image through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing that many patterns around food and self-perception develop unconsciously as ways of coping. Our work focuses on gently bringing awareness to these patterns, understanding their origins, and creating space for new, more supportive ways of relating to the body. Ultimately, we aim to help clients reconnect with their sense of autonomy, so they can make choices that feel aligned, empowered, and sustainable in their lives.

Trauma occurs when an experience overwhelms your system’s ability to cope and process what’s happening. Its effects can show up as rumination, intense emotional triggers, and patterns of coping that no longer feel helpful. In some cases, repeated or severe trauma can lead to PTSD.
Our work focuses on helping clients gently process these experiences while building practical skills for emotional regulation, increasing distress tolerance, and reducing unhelpful coping patterns. The goal is to support a greater sense of stability, resilience, and choice in how you respond to life’s challenges.

Stress, anxiety, and phobias can all disrupt the nervous system, often leaving you feeling overwhelmed, on edge, or stuck in patterns that are hard to shift. Whether you’re dealing with work-related stress, general anxiety, or specific fears like flying, support can make a meaningful difference.
We help you learn how to regulate your nervous system more effectively, build practical tools for managing stress, and reduce its impact on your health and well-being. The goal is to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and able to move through life with greater ease and balance.

Anger is a natural and important emotion, but when it feels hard to control or shows up in ways that impact your life and relationships, it can become overwhelming. Often, anger has deeper roots and can surface at times when you wish it wouldn’t.
We work with you to understand the origins of your anger and help you process what’s beneath it. Along the way, you’ll learn practical tools to manage anger more effectively, improve communication, and build stronger, more secure relationships.

Reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance your overall sense of well-being by identifying and working through the obstacles that may be keeping you stuck. Sometimes life can feel off or unfulfilling without a clear reason. In those moments, it can help to slow down and take a closer look at the patterns shaping your day-to-day experience.
We support you in building awareness of unhelpful habits and gently shifting them toward more intentional, values-aligned ways of living. Together, we help you move toward a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and aligned with what matters most to you.
The Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) is a trauma-focused therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process difficult experiences while strengthening emotional regulation, internal stability, and a sense of safety. CRM integrates elements from EMDR, neuroscience, attachment theory, somatic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches to support healing from trauma, anxiety, dissociation, and other stress-related difficulties.
What makes CRM unique is its focus on building internal and external resources before engaging deeply with traumatic material. Clients are guided to connect with supportive imagery, grounding techniques, body awareness, and emotional resources that help the nervous system feel more regulated and secure. This creates a foundation that allows traumatic experiences to be processed with less overwhelm and greater emotional resilience.
CRM also recognizes the importance of attachment and relational safety in healing. The approach helps clients strengthen their connection to themselves, increase self-compassion, and reduce patterns of fear, shame, or emotional disconnection that may have developed through past experiences.
Overall, CRM aims to support lasting healing by helping individuals feel more present, connected, and capable of managing emotional distress while gradually integrating unresolved experiences in a safe and structured way.
